Brother Dennis St. Andrew, PDC is originally from Poughkeepsie, New York. He is a retired IT manager from both the Poughkeepsie Savings Bank, and the NC Department of Commerce-DES having managed data centers for these institutions. Brother St. Andrew became a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War through the MG John A. Logan Camp No. 4 in Raleigh in September 2007.

Brother St. Andrew, PDC served in the US Army (RA) for three years (1970-1973), including one year with the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam. His awards & decorations include (2) Bronze Star Medals, Air Medal, (2) Army Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross with (2) silver devices.

Brother St. Andrew, PDC has had a great interest in the Civil War since boyhood, and learning about the Civil War has been a lifelong process for him. He has a collection of Civil War paintings, autographs, weapons, books, relics, memorabilia, and G.A.R. and Sons of Union Veterans medals, badges, ribbons, and ephemera. He also has a collection of books and art on the Wild West, the Battle of the Little Bighorn, and the Battle of the Alamo.
