North Carolina Union Volunteers Camp No. 5's operational area includes Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Greene, Pitt, Craven, Carteret, Pamlico, Beaufort, Hyde, Dare, Tyrell, Washington, Currituck, Gates, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Camden and Chowan counties.

Under the leadership of Jay Nolte, Jr. (Commander of SCV Camp 706 and member of SUVCW Camp No. 5), seven VA headstones were installed in February.

North Carolina Union Volunteers Camp No.5 has worked on projects and attended many events in 2025-2026. Highlights include:
The camp helped install seven (7) Veterans Administration headstones at Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Bern, NC in February 2026.
Participated in the annual Memorial Day program at New Bern National Cemetery and represented the SUVCW at local Veterans Day events.
Presented ten (10) JROTC Certificates and Medals to cadets in ten programs across five counties.
Conducted Civil War Research for individuals and groups free of charge.
