Brother Wendell G. Small, Jr, PCC was Chaplain of the MG Thomas Ruger Camp No. 1. He served in previous years as Camp Commander of Camp No. 1, Department Historian, Department Secretary, Department Council, Camp Historian and Camp Secretary. Brother Small, PCC also attended all encampments from 2008 to 2013. His awards included the Distinguished Service Award in 2007 and Commendation Certificate in 2011. He gave the invocation at the dedication of the first union monument placed on North Carolina property at the Bentonville Battleground in 2013. Brother Small, PCC also privately printed a booklet on the "Grand Army of the Republic in the Carolinas" in 2005.

Brother Rolf Maris, PCC was Chaplain of the Union Veterans Camp No. 5. He served in previous years as Camp Commander of Camp No. 5, Department Chaplain and Junior Vice Commander and well as other officer positions. His work at the New Bern Battlefield and research on the Civil War was much appreciated by his associates.
